On the eve of 2021, optimism was in abundance as vaccines were just around the corner; businesses were envisioning a physical return to the workplace; a return to normalcy was no longer just a fantasy – it was anticipated. However, 2021 gave us a brutal reality check as uncertainty was the only constant. New Covid variants, a high inflationary environment, supply-chain bottlenecks, and debates around vaccine policies (just to name a few) became the markets main areas of focus. Nonetheless, one of the most unexpected concerns has been what experts called “The Great Resignation” – a phenomenon which defines record-high numbers of individuals leaving their employment.
