Welcome to the December edition of our monthly newsletter. As you are no doubt busy preparing for the holiday season, we are busy ensuring that all of the considerations surrounding the end of another tax year are handled on your behalf. We would like to take this opportunity to point out a couple of housekeeping matters:

Holiday office hours

December 29th is the last trading day in Canada and the US for equity market transactions to settle in 2021. Canadian and US markets will be closed on December 27th and January 3rd. In addition, Canadian markets are closed on December 28th (in lieu of Boxing Day), and the US markets are closed on December 24th. 

The JSK Partners office will be closed from 11am on December 24th through to January 4th. We will have staff available for contact by phone or email during this time, should you have an urgent matter.

Despite a 4.5% fall in global energy demand in 2020, renewable energy technologies showed promising progress. While the growth in renewables was strong across the board, solar power led from the front with 127 gigawatts installed in 2020, its largest-ever annual capacity expansion.
