March 2026
Hello everyone,
Despite Mother Nature’s whims, spring is fast approaching. It officially arrived on 20 March at 10.45 am.
During Fraud Prevention Month, many cybersecurity experts recommend taking advantage of the change of season to carry out a
digital spring clean, just as we do a thorough spring clean in our homes when spring arrives.
Here are some simple steps you can take to protect yourself:
- Update your devices. Make sure your operating system, apps and antivirus software are up to date.
- Review your passwords. Use strong, unique passwords. Consider using a password manager to help you.
- Delete inactive accounts. Fewer accounts = fewer opportunities for fraudsters to attack.
- Check your privacy settings on social media; tighten them if necessary.
- Be aware of common scams: suspicious links sent by email, urgent requests for money, fake government services.
The Autorité des marchés financiers provides
guidance on what to do if you fall victim to fraud, as well as a
quiz to test your knowledge.
Being proactive is your best defense against fraud. By acting quickly, you protect not only your finances but also your digital identity.
See you soon!
