Tax-gain harvesting strategies

A strategy often explored by professional tax advisors is “tax-loss selling,” where non-registered investments with accrued capital losses are disposed of in order to offset capital gains that have been realized. Less talked about is planning that achieves the opposite result — the recognition of accrued capital gains on non-registered assets and prepaying income tax earlier than required. This is often referred to as “tax-gain harvesting.”

Mapped: Gas prices in America at all-time highs

In recent days, gas prices have skyrocketed to all-time highs.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the national average price of regular unleaded gas has reached $4.25 per gallon as of March 21st, 2022. This is the first time since 2008 that gas prices had exceeded the $4 per gallon mark.
