January 2022
Whatever your resolutions or projects that you have planned, we wish you much success during this new year. And to start 2022 on the right foot, here are a few reminders.
First of all, the RRSP limit has been raised to $29,210. It was $27,830 last year. As a reminder: your authorized contribution room is always indicated on your notice of assessment from the
federal government once your taxes have been filed for the previous year. And the deadline to contribute to your RRSP is Tuesday, March 1
st, 2022.
Secondly, with regards to a TFSA, the maximum is still set at $6,000, bringing to the total eligible amount to $81,500. The limits for various retirement savings and pension plans are laid out
here.
We have prepared our video review of the last quarter of 2021, which is available in
English and
French.
The new year is also a chance for us to remind you that we were very active in the media last year. You can read or listen (or re-read or re-listen!) to our various articles and mentions
here, including
this one (in French) about the importance of dividend income during retirement.
Until next time!
